Steam Classic 5

There’s more to making a great 5-stringed bass than adding one string and changing some parts and measurements. The real challenge is the low B string. To fully understand what I mean, you need to experience the Steam 5 live – then you will know how powerful and balanced a low B can sound at its very best.

Our unique thermo treatment process of the wood plays a crucial role in making an exceptional sounding 5-stringed bass. The body of Steam Classic 5 is made of thermo treated Finnish alder. The 35″ scale neck is crafted of thermo treated maple. You can choose your fretboard from our familiar options: rosewood, ebony, thermo treated arctic birch and thermo treated maple.

We’re a custom shop, inside out. We have tons of options to customize the Steam Classic 5 perfect for your liking. Please read more about tone, playability, wood species, neck profiles, frets, pickups, hardware, finishes and other options from the specifications section of this website.

Bass Builder

Our bass configurator below is an elemental part of why it is so easy and fun to order custom basses from me. I just love the Bass Builder and wanted to double the fun - so we started developing the next generation configurator - the Bass Creator - in 3D! The new Creator is not available for any of our basses quite yet, but you can already try it with these guitars: Duke Classic and Duke Artisan.

Even if some guitar specs have changed, our trustworthy Flash based Guitar Builder is up-to-date regarding prices and ready to serve all your custom guitar and bass needs in Adobe Flash capable environments.
