Steam Artist – the furthest we’ve ever gone

One of the key secrets of the sound of the Steam bass has always been our use of thermally aged rock maple as the neck material. It gives the Steam bass its unusually long sustain and even response across the whole fretboard, despite being a bolt-on bass. With the Steam Artist we wanted to explore what happens when we use the same exact material in a neck-through-body design? The result is: Similar, but not the same. It is more modern with super smooth frequency response from top to bottom, without losing the Steam bass character that you (and we) love so much.

Obviously, we couldn’t quite stop there – we also had to find out what happens if we power the Steam Artist up with the Valvebucker? Well, this is that bass – the first-ever Steam Artist bass with the Valvebucker pickup. Our first impression? It is the furthest we’ve ever gone in our bass exploration for a new sound with sustain, clarity, and transparency. It is literally the Steam bass you’ve learned to love—with a notch more sophistication and sonic depth unlike you’ve heard before.

If you’re seriously interested in this bass, please contact me for an offer. Or, if you have any questions about the instrument, I’m more than happy to answer!
