When I designed the VSOP back in 1999, one of the details I wanted to have already then was the matching pickup covers that would go together with my Dukebuckers. It turned out a challenging little detail – nobody made such metal rings for s-style pickups in those days! We had a few pieces made as prototypes, and tried to look for someone who’d be willing to make them more for us. No luck! Now, finally, nearly 20 years later I have it! And this is the first guitar we’ve made featuring a Dukebucker bridge pickup with matching singlecoil covers!
